Farmhouse Tea Cabinet

Fall - the undressing of the beautiful trees that surround my farm charm cottage and the not forgotten 'Shabby Chic Tiny Retreat', (my 8x18 tiny house) here in the sweet Appalachian mountains. So many people delight in the splendor of observing the color changes that Fall ushers in. Me, not so much... I love hot sun drenched days where I can hike, walk, play and bake in the almost constant rays of wonderful sunshine where I am blessed to dwell. I love the heat of the day and spending warm summer evenings on the old farmhouse covered porch. Yet, I remain thankful that I am alive and able to embrace the weather patterns that undress the many species of trees that fill these Appalachian mountains, as well as the valleys that are neighbors to many rivers.

Accepting that cold and shorter days are just around the corner, I've put the fleece sheets back on my bed, pulled out my vintage quilts as well as a few new soup recipes that I want to try. I've also been gathering new Organic tea flavors to add to my Fall and winter tea collection. No doubt, they will pair up nicely with a warm cozy fire, candles and great reads.

I have a thing for vintage windows and it was love at first sight when I spotted this unique window that was laid to rest in a barn loft for many years. I had originally considered giving her a new life as a headboard but later decided that she would fit perfectly into this odd farmhouse nook. So here she is, in her new repurposed life as she proudly houses a variety of Organic seasonal teas and Organic local honey, vintage tea cups and other goodies that are part of sharing a cup of  tea with a friend.

This repurpurposed vintage window was hinged onto a homemade cabinet

This little cabinet used to be red. I painted it with AS chalk paint in French Linen and added crystal knobs, and numbers

Mason jars hold loose leaf teas and bagged teas fill the numbered drawers

Tiny baby boo pumpkins are a perfect addition to tiny spaces

Organic cinnamon tea is a Fall favorite in my home

Thanks for stopping by my blog. May you and your family be blessed

Hi Jeananne Marie,
Thanks for stopping by. Old windows, doors and architectural pieces are my weakness. They are super special if they have the original wavy glass.

Hi Rebecca, Glad you stopped by. Yes, I do have my tiny house right here near me and parked on my land. The Shabby Chic Tiny Retreat is doing duty as a storage unit at this time. I really want to get it cleaned out and I may possibly rent it out on VRBO. I have also been keeping an eye out for another piece of land to possibly park it on and then use it as a get away spot. It gives me some options. Thanks for the encouragement.

10-28-18 Hey Tonita, I enjoy looking at your blog and seeing all your new discoveries. You have such a creative touch that you might want to be an interior designer when you grow up! Carry on. The NC mountains suit you. Elizabeth

That was a wonderful way to repurpose that window! It looks perfect there. I like the little touch of autumn with the tiny white pumpkins. Just enough. xoox Su

Hey Tonita, I continue to follow your blog and love your sense of decorating and adding just the right about of colors. I still say, you should become an interior designer or go into staging houses for sale. YOU would continue to shine in that environment. I enjoy the way you use crowns in your home, too. I adore your round white petal pillow. When you get tired of it, would you please send it my way!! Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth

Hi again, my dear friend-
I actually used to stage homes, before people had a name for it.
I love that foo foo flower pillow also, but a bit hard to keep it clean with big dogs who think it belongs to them.
