Today, I took some time off from work to curl up in my cozy nook and catch up on some reading. I am yearning to see and feel the sunshine upon my face again someday soon. The rain pelting down on my 8ft x 24ft teeny tiny retreat's metal roof reminds me that it may be weeks till that happens again, after all I do live in Washington State.
The cold and wet January weather just screams the words "comfort food" to me. Cupcakes happen to be at the top of my comfort food list and seem even better when paired with a cup of delicious loose leaf tea. Just what I need, on this cold rainy stay inside the house kind of day.
With February just around the corner I decided to pull out some of my Valentine fancies to spice up my little retreat. Glad you took the time to stop by. Come on in, pull off yer boots and join me for a cup of hot Organic Cinnamon tea and a delish Vanilla Bean crème filled little cake. Enjoy.........

ReplyDeleteHello Tonita, I just saw your tiny retreat on pintrest and it Just calls to me to look further. I am so glad that I did,I read the post and saw that you were asked if you live in your tiny retreat full time. Do you have another home that you live in regularly and go to your tiny retreat when you get the urge. This is so very important to me as I am ill and have a lot of stress's and verbal abuse from two of my children and husband. After saying that I have been trying to figure a way to get a permanent little retreat home for myself and my blind dachshund. Any information you could Send me or post will be so very helpful. Thank you for the time.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog....What a darling little spot you have here....Can't wait to read more:-)
ReplyDeleteAfter living in your tiny house for a while, is there anything you would change? Would you put in an oven? Where do you keep your clothes? Is the ladder fine or would you put in stairs? Is the bathroom large enough?
ReplyDeleteHmmm...two chairs, two place settings, and four (4) cupcakes. Perfect!!

Tonita, I am so glad you found me and left a comment so I could come and see your very charming tiny house. I've been looking through your posts and I watched the video of your home before it was delivered. You have done an incredible job of finishing your little piece of heaven. I love it! If I lived alone I would have one just like it. We must be kindred spirits, as we have the exact same china teapot! Isn't that funny? Together we could have tea for four. :) I hope you'll do more posting about your life in the tiny house. It's such a sweet place and needs to be shared with the world. I'm following you and hope you'll stay connected with me. Hugs ~ Nancy @ A Joyful Cottage

ReplyDeleteHi Angela,
ReplyDeleteThanks - I had Scott of Slabtown Customs make my tiny home. If you sift through some of my old posts there is a short video of what it looked like before I fixed her up.
Thanks to all of you sweet ladies who take time to visit and comment. I do read each and every comment and while I don't have much time in my life to tend to this blog, I feel honored that so many talented blogsters & tiny home enthusiasts have stopped by to visit my tiny retreat. I hope it either sparks a dream for you, inspires you or just in some little way brings a smile to your face. That is what your blogs and/ or your comments do for me. Remember- it is never ever to late to have a happy childhood. Quite often we missed that the first time around and we can create it for ourselves if we choose to. Thanks again for your kind words. May you all be blessed.

Tonita, I adore your home, sweet home! It's just the right sizet! Your beautiful spirit shines through in all the special touches you've added. That's one of the things I like most about smaller homes is you can make them exactly what you want without breaking the bank. Just leaves extra money left over for traveling and living life! I know you're enjoying NC, Highlands is such a beautiful place. I've visited there a few times and it's truly a special place to live. Hope you are seeing less rain now than you did in WA! Thanks so much for the tour! BTW, I've bet you've seen it already, but in case you haven't, I know you will love Sandy's home. You can see it here: http://betweennapsontheporch.net/rugged-hunting-cabin-becomes-a-beautiful-victorian-retreat/
